It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Young, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandad, and dear friend to so many.
Michael was the heart of our family. He lived his life with kindness, generosity, and a wonderful sense of humour that could brighten even the darkest days. He was always there with a helping hand, wise advice, or a story that would leave everyone smiling.
Above all else, Michael’s greatest pride was his family. He was a devoted husband to Catherine, a loving father, and a cherished grandad who adored spending time with his children and grandchildren. His love for his family was unwavering, and he worked hard throughout his life to ensure those he loved were cared for and supported.
Michael touched the lives of many people through his warmth, loyalty, and genuine nature. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in the memories we shared, the laughter he brought into our lives, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy will live on in the family he loved so dearly and in the countless lives he touched.
In keeping with Michael’s wishes, we kindly request no flowers. Instead of floral tributes, we ask that donations be made to Starlight, a charity that was very close to our hearts. Your generosity will help continue the wonderful work they do and will be a lasting tribute to Michael’s memory.

It was very moving to find out more about you at the service, you made many people happy and raised a beautiful family - a life well lived, but I wish you could've stayed longer.
