In loving memory of Neal Bell who sadly passed away on 22nd May 2026, aged 66 years.

Neal was a much loved husband, dad, grandad, brother, uncle and friend, and his sudden loss has left a huge hole in all of our lives.

He was kind, funny, calm and endlessly fair. We often joked that he was ‘Mr Switzerland’, because he somehow managed to sit firmly on the fence in almost every situation and never wanted to say a bad word about anyone. He had a brilliant sense of humour, gave the best advice, and had a way of making people feel truly listened to and valued.

Neal loved being outdoors, whether he was cycling, walking, or spending time with his friends. He believed everyone had a story to tell and had a genuine interest in people, their lives and what made them who they were.

As a family, we will remember him for the stories he told more than once, the advice he gave so wisely, the little jokes, the nicknames, the phone calls, and the ordinary everyday moments that now mean more than ever.

We would also like to give our heartfelt thanks to Neal’s four dear friends, Huw Jones, Matt Adams, Owen James and Tim Baker, who stayed with him until the end and did everything in their power to help him while waiting for Devon Air Ambulance to arrive. The love, care and courage they showed during that time means more to us than words can say, and as a family we will always be deeply grateful to them.

If desired, donations in Neal’s memory may be made to Devon Air Ambulance, in recognition of the incredible work they do, the efforts they made to help Neal, and the kindness and support they have shown to us as a family and to Neal's amazing friends. These may be left on the day, sent to A. W. Lymn, or left online by following the link provided.
