In loving memory of Peter Ebbs who passed away peacefully at the age of 87, on 1st June 2026.
Peter was the devoted husband of Sheila (née Cook), with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Together they built a close and caring family that remained at the heart of his life.
He was a much-loved father to Matthew and Venetia, and a proud grandfather to Tom (and wife Stacey), Bill (and partner Isobel, and great-granddaughter Elsie), Eve (and husband Spencer), Ben and Jack. Nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his family.
Peter will be fondly remembered for his many interests and hobbies. He had a lifelong love of puzzles and enjoyed the challenge and satisfaction they brought. A loyal supporter of Southend United Football Club, he followed the team faithfully over the years. He also enjoyed bowling, drawing, and bird watching.
Most of all, he will be remembered as a kind, devoted, and thoughtful family man whose warmth, humour, and gentle nature touched everyone who knew him.
The funeral will be held on July 7th at 2:00 pm at Basildon crematorium followed by light refreshments at the Gun Pub after the service.
