It was a privilege and an honour to have met you at the very special College of Knowledge all those decades ago, to share the dits, sup the pints, and laugh till we cried. Catching up a couple of years ago. Dave was a great boss during our time together on HMS Illustrious and fantastic host in France. Always good company and will be fondly remembered by the Withers family.

David was always there in a time of need. Even at 4 in the morning when from the middle of Spain we called him. The garage had incorrectly half filled our diesel car with petrol. He gave a practical solution, to us non technical people. Much to our relief.
