In loving memory of Gabrielle Robinson, aged 58,who sadly passed away on 17th May 2026 at home in Blyth, Northumberland.

Born on 3rd June 1967 to parents Peter and Lesley, Gaby grew up with a real passion for animals, the outdoors, horse riding, travel and cooking.

She graduated from Scarborough college, where she excelled at cookery and went onto a career in cooking, then later the caring profession.

To those who knew Gaby, she was incredibly warm and fun to be around, always smiling and laughing, with a wonderful sense of humour. She loved to lift the spirits of those around her. Alongside this, she possessed a kind, gentle and caring nature, always putting others before herself and showering people with thoughtful gifts.

Some of her favourite moments were spent riding and looking after horses, boating on the Norfolk broads, being by the seaside and spending time with her numerous feline and canine companions.

She is survived and dearly missed by her father Peter, step mother Sally and siblings Giles and Chantal. She was preceded in death by her mother Lesley and grandmother Hilda.

This is Gaby aged 48 when I was 50. She had travelled down a huge distance when she was already in a lot of knee and hip pain. That simple action of love struck my heart strings. Gaby, you are loved.

I first met Gaby when she was 9 and I was 11. Her dad Peter married my cousin, Sally.

From the beginning, Gaby was a wonderfully spirited girl, she was very friendly, kind and lots of fun. We spent time together during the school holidays.

An early, lovely memory for me was when Gaby and I played at my Auntie Mu and Uncle Geoff’s house in Wetherby. We played all day and I remember how much we laughed. As it started to get dark and cold, we should have gone in, but we decided to keep going. We were playing in a huge tree near the house and decided to keep ourselves warm by starting a fire. I can’t quite remember if we managed to start one, but we definitely had newspaper, some wood and matches. Uncle Geoff was incredibly angry with us, trying to keep his voice under control. He shooed us away and I think we hid for a while until we were forgiven.

Another memory was when Gaby was older and came to stay with us in Shipley. We had a whole week together and it was wonderful, just like having a little sister to play with. I took Gaby to a youth club in Bingley and plied her with Lager and black. It was fun while it lasted, but when we got home, poor Gaby was ill and hungover. We never told anyone about that.

Gaby was a wonderful human being, she was incredibly kind hearted and loved by everyone. When we moved to London, Gaby came to stay a few times and I remember her warmth, giggles and huge smiles.

Gaby came to my 50th birthday party, and it was such a happy occasion for us to remember our childhood memories. My daughter was invited to spend time with Gaby, and it was a statement of pure love, the same for everyone in Gaby's life.

Gaby’s adult life has been a battle for her physical and mental health, but throughout all the hardships, her fun loving, sunny personality shone through.

My darling Gaby, I miss you. God bless.
