As an aviator, Chris was outstanding. He was hugely popular, immensely capable and a real delight to work with. A consummate professional, Chris was the definition of a role model pilot but most of all, he was a man of total integrity, a great chap, warm and wonderful company.

Chris was a wonderful and kind man who will be sadly missed by those who met him. It’s now over 10 years since he kindly sponsored me to become a VP at Pulborough Rugby Club. Despite not knowing me that well beforehand, the welcome was warm and I have enjoyed attending PRFC games ever since.

With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay.

Chris was a wonderful family friend , who was kind, strong, with a great sense of humour, fun to be with, generous with his hospitality and I will miss him very much, as will my family too. My heart goes out to Annie, Pip and Fiona. Also Ruby , Sadie and Freddie who have lost their amazing Pa who was so proud of them. Not forgetting his two Son in Laws at this sad time.

Chris lifted the whole rugby club with his energy, kindness, and loyalty. I’ll always be grateful for the memories shared over a beer. He’ll be greatly missed. Thinking of his family and all who loved him during this difficult time.
