Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on May 27th aged 93 years, Irene (née Waddell). The beloved wife of the late Edward (Ted), much-loved mam of Linda, Leslie, Janice, David and dear mother-in-law of Jackie, Tossy and Julie. The treasured grandma of Jonathan, Kristofer, Daniel, Abbie, Stacey, Rachael, Atlanta and great-grandma of Zahra, Molly, Albie, Emmie, Ella and Alfie. The dearly loved sister of Ellen, Betty, Elsie, George Albert and Brian. A dear auntie, great-auntie and a good friend to many. Forever in our hearts. 

Family and friends please meet on Friday June 19th for a service in the Independent Methodist Church, Easington Lane at 10.45am, committal to follow in Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only, donations in lieu gratefully received for charities to be determined by Irene’s family. A donation box will be available in the church. You are asked to wear a splash of colour to celebrate a life as bright and beautiful as Irene’s.
