Aidan - you were always a kind support to colleagues and to me. A legend on the quiz front and a popular and generous teacher. My sincere condolences to your family and to our colleagues at Trinity and NAS.

The world feels a little quieter without Aidan. I will always remember his humour , his kindness, his wisdom and kind heart. I will cherish the memories, laughter and conversations with close friends at the Beechdale pub on a Friday after work and the banter on the nights out. I will never forget his support through tough times and the words of wisdom . I will always remember him fondly. I’ll raise a glass to him at our usual table today .
Love Sharon W. X

As my oldest cousin, I always thought you were very cool and funny.

From the early years, I remember fun trips to Fulstow (sorry Matthew, Jennifer and me for teasing you and waking you up early when all you wanted was a lie-in!), days out in South Shields, and sitting on double-decker buses with Granny Bell.

As adults, I loved seeing you and the family at our reunions in South Shields and, more recently, staying with you all in Nottingham. It was there that I really saw how much pride you took in your lovely boys, and how much time and energy you gave to supporting them in their sports and interests.

I will also remember the conversations we had about your work. It was always clear how much you cared about your union work and supporting others. Thank you for the advice you gave me personally as a fellow teacher. Most of all, I will remember your kindness and generosity. Whenever I think of you, I picture you smiling. You always seemed to have such a positive outlook on life, and that is something I will never forget.

You were taken far too soon. I will miss you.

With love,

Becky.
