In loving memory of Emma Britton (Turner) who sadly passed away on Saturday 23rd May 2026.

Emma's Celebration of Life will take place in Bridgwater on the afternoon of Saturday 20th June 2026.

Given how much Emma meant to so many, we expect a lot of people will want to pay their respects and so we’ve organised a number of ways in which you can show her your love on the day.

CEREMONY

Emma’s Celebration of Life ceremony will take place at the McMillan Theatre in Bridgwater (TA6 4PZ) at 2pm.

The ceremony is OPEN TO ALL, however given the expected demand and at the request of John and Jackie, tickets have been issued to some of those closest to Emma to guarantee their entry to the theatre.

If you’d like to attend the ceremony, but haven’t been allocated a ticket, you are still very welcome to attend on a first-come basis but we cannot necessarily guarantee a seat within the venue.

We ask you to arrive at the theatre in plenty of time as doors will be closed at 1.30pm promptly.

In the event that the theatre reaches capacity, you’ll initially be directed to an alternative location within walking distance where you’ll be able to watch the ceremony.

Emma told us that she’d love everyone attending to wear a gerbera if they can! Real or fake and in lots of different colours.

She wasn’t fussy about dress code for the day. She wanted you to feel comfortable. You can wear colour if you wish – but it’s not essential.

A coffee and cake wake will follow the ceremony for those attending.

EMMA’S JOURNEY TO THE MCMILLAN THEATRE

Alternatively you can pay your respects by lining Emma’s route to the McMillan Theatre.

Emma will be travelling to the theatre in a horse drawn carriage, pulled by four black horses.

Emma loved how magnificent they look and said the bigger, the better when it comes to the horses!

She’ll travel along the Bath Road - between the Bower Lane Roundabout and College Way between approximately 1pm and 1.30pm.

It’s the stretch of road between the new Community Hospital and Bridgwater College, past the old cellophane factory.

Should you choose this option, we respectfully request that you remain on the pavement, avoid obstructing the carriageway and follow the instructions of anyone involved in the organisation of Emma’s Celebration of Life.

Sadly, it will not be practical or possible to both line the route and attend the ceremony at the McMillan Theatre.

LIVE STREAM

Should you wish to pay your respects from the comfort of your own home, simply can’t make it to Bridgwater on the day or want to watch the ceremony after lining the route, there will be a live stream of the ceremony available.

Live Stream Password: BR2026

The stream should be live around 10 minutes ahead of the ceremony starting. You can test whether it’ll work on your device by opening the link above and clicking on ‘TEST VIDEO’ once you’re on the page.

EMMA’S CHOSEN CHARITIES

You can make a donation in Emma’s memory to one of her chosen charities, ALK Positive UK or Beagle Welfare on this page, where you can also continue to leave a tribute and share pictures.

THANK YOU

We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in organising the day so far and very kindly offered their services to give Emma the send-off she deserves.

Emma was such a ray of sunshine and gave nothing but time and joy. I think the beagle charity seems a fitting charity for us to donate too seeing as though she said my wife and I were her dogs favourite delivery drivers. To the family, we are so sorry for your loss. We will all miss her massively. We need more Emma's in the world.

Emma really was one in a million, and she loved Billy so much. Think she be thrilled to see this charity getting some much needed funding.

People come into your life
And simply pass straight through
Others come and stay a while
Then go to pastures new
And then there comes the special one
With a light that shines within
Who will touch your life in such a way
Who means more than anything
They will give support and guide your way
And fill your life with joy
A light that shines into your heart
That will be there ever more
And if that light gets taken
And disappears from sight
The star that shines so bright above
Will be your guiding light

I didnt know Emma personally, but i felt like I did. Her friendly personality and presence through the radio and online made it feel like she was a friend. Her movement into celebrant work and openness around her experience and learning around death massively helped me with my fear of death and dying. Somehow she helped me see it as less scary and more beautiful. She really was an amazing human from who I learnt so much. Her honesty sharing her cancer journey was incredible and she always gave way to hope. Thank you Emma for your positive influence. Sending so much love to John and Jackie and for anyone experiencing the loss of Emma.
