In loving memory of Emma Britton (Turner) who sadly passed away on Saturday 23rd May 2026.

Emma's Celebration of Life will take place in Bridgwater on the afternoon of Saturday 20th June 2026.

Given how much Emma meant to so many, we expect a lot of people will want to pay their respects and so we’ve organised a number of ways in which you can show her your love on the day.

CEREMONY

Emma’s Celebration of Life ceremony will take place at the McMillan Theatre in Bridgwater (TA6 4PZ) at 2pm.

The ceremony is OPEN TO ALL, however given the expected demand and at the request of John and Jackie, tickets have been issued to some of those closest to Emma to guarantee their entry to the theatre.

If you’d like to attend the ceremony, but haven’t been allocated a ticket, you are still very welcome to attend on a first-come basis but we cannot necessarily guarantee a seat within the venue.

We ask you to arrive at the theatre in plenty of time as doors will be closed at 1.30pm promptly.

In the event that the theatre reaches capacity, you’ll initially be directed to an alternative location within walking distance where you’ll be able to watch the ceremony.

Emma told us that she’d love everyone attending to wear a gerbera if they can! Real or fake and in lots of different colours.

She wasn’t fussy about dress code for the day. She wanted you to feel comfortable. You can wear colour if you wish – but it’s not essential.

A coffee and cake wake will follow the ceremony for those attending.

EMMA’S JOURNEY TO THE MCMILLAN THEATRE

Alternatively you can pay your respects by lining Emma’s route to the McMillan Theatre.

Emma will be travelling to the theatre in a horse drawn carriage, pulled by four black horses.

Emma loved how magnificent they look and said the bigger, the better when it comes to the horses!

She’ll travel along the Bath Road - between the Bower Lane Roundabout and College Way between approximately 1pm and 1.30pm.

It’s the stretch of road between the new Community Hospital and Bridgwater College, past the old cellophane factory.

Should you choose this option, we respectfully request that you remain on the pavement, avoid obstructing the carriageway and follow the instructions of anyone involved in the organisation of Emma’s Celebration of Life.

Sadly, it will not be practical or possible to both line the route and attend the ceremony at the McMillan Theatre.

LIVE STREAM

Should you wish to pay your respects from the comfort of your own home, simply can’t make it to Bridgwater on the day or want to watch the ceremony after lining the route, there will be a live stream of the ceremony available.

Live Stream Link: funeralvideo.co.uk/emma-britton
Live Stream Password: BR2026

The stream should be live around 10 minutes ahead of the ceremony starting. You can test whether it’ll work on your device by opening the link above and clicking on ‘TEST VIDEO’ once you’re on the page.

EMMA’S CHOSEN CHARITIES

You can make a donation in Emma’s memory to one of her chosen charities, ALK Positive UK or Beagle Welfare on this page, where you can also continue to leave a tribute and share pictures.

THANK YOU

We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in organising the day so far and very kindly offered their services to give Emma the send-off she deserves.

I will always be thankful to Emma for helping me through the hardest part of my life. In 2007 with a desperately ill child and loosing 3 close family members within weeks life wasn't feeling good. Emma's fun, infectious laughter and being so very genuine made her seem like a personal friend, always there for me, sat on the counter in my kitchen. I only wish I had emailed to tell her of the support she gave me to get me through it all. RIP Emma, you will always remain a shining star. My thoughts are with John, Jackie, Billy and all Emma's family and friends xxx

In Loving Memory of Emma Britton

The airwaves feel a little quieter today, but to those of us who knew her, the legacy Emma Britton left behind speaks volumes. To say the radio has gone silent would not be true; rather, it has changed its frequency to carry the warmth, the passion, and the joy that Emma brought to every broadcast and every conversation.

Emma wasn’t just a voice on the radio; she was a light, a mentor, and a dear friend to all of us at Access FM. Her dedication to her craft was matched only by the kindness she showed to everyone she met. While the microphone she held so expertly may be still, the inspiration she gave to her colleagues and listeners will continue to echo for a long time to come.

We share our deepest condolences with her family, her friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. We hold onto the comfort that she is now in a place of peace, watching over those she loved so dearly.

Emma, you are missed more than words can say. Thank you for the memories, the music, and the heart you poured into everything you did. You will forever be a part of our station, our community, and our lives.

Rest in peace, dear friend.
