Peacefully on 7th May, Florence 'Evelyn' Miller (nee Barker) aged 92 years of Skipton, formerly of Barnoldswick. Beloved wife of the late John William, much loved mum of Joyce, Paul, John, Tracy and Jason and a loving grandma and great grandma.

Mum lived a long and beautiful life, and leaves us with more love and memories than we know what to do with. Along with our Dad, John William Miller, she was a fantastic, loving, very strict and caring mother and very supportive in all our needs, challenges and ambitions.

Our Mum was never afraid to voice her concerns and to campaign for what she truly believed in and won many battles in her determination to help others and secure good outcomes for many people and communities. David Currie, the Skipton and Ripon MP in the 80’s, 90’s until 2010, nicknamed Mum as the ‘Trojan Horse’ 🙂❤️

Mum and Dad were very early committee members of SCAD in 1981 and very soon after set up the Original SCAD Charity Shop in Victoria Street.

In Evelyn's mid life and beyond, her passion was buying and selling bric-a-brac with Dad, and in the mid 70's, ran a bric-a-brac and antique shop on Brook Street, Skipton under the name of 'Have-a-Look-in'. Following the passing of Dad in 1997, Mum enjoyed her later years shopping and visiting car boot sales with her very caring Daughter, Tracy.

The colour purple was our Mum's favourite, therefore please feel free to wear a hint of purple at her funeral. 💕💕
