David was a friend and a colleague, you could reply on him having a constructive opinion and a willingness to discuss it. On the other side of the coin he was caring and passionate about his cancer advocacy work.

I first came to know David over four years ago following my own cancer diagnosis, through his work with Macmillan Cancer Support Services. Over time that connection grew into friendship, and later into working together as fellow trustees at Yorkshire Cancer Community.
David was a kind, thoughtful and supportive man who gave his time generously to help others. His quiet encouragement, wisdom and commitment to improving the lives of people affected by cancer will be greatly missed.
I am sure Yorkshire Cancer Community will not be the only organisation reflecting on the contribution David made to so many people over the years.
On behalf of everyone at Yorkshire Cancer Community, I would like to offer our sincere condolences to David’s family and loved ones at this very sad time.
