In loving memory of Stirling Mark Seales who sadly passed away on 29th April 2026.

Stirling was born in Poringland and grew up there with David and Stuart, his two elder stepbrothers and younger sister Janine. After his father died when was seven, he had to become the man house at a very early age when his stepbrothers both emigrated to Australia in the early seventies. His love of farming came from helping out on Dougie Potter's farm in Poringland. He attended Poringland Primary and Framingham Earl school where he only really enjoyed his metal and woodwork lessons with Albert Rose.

At the age of 15 he started work with Roger Roper at RR Trailers, which as well as having a haulage side, built farm trailers. Stirling played a huge part in building these trailers along with Alan Pitchers, a master craftsman boat builder. This is where he met Paul Utting, Roger's cousin, who became a large part later in Stirling's working life. He went on to work at Ben Burgess, then becoming self employed, working for Robin Key and Roger again, When Roger's business ceased to exist in 1999, he and Paul set up together. They worked together up to the time when Stirling sadly passed away.

In 1985 he met Shelagh who was to become his wife in 1989. They bought a property in Cawstons Meadow, Poringland in 1986 and moved in together with Shelagh's two sons, Matthew and James who were 11 and 9 at the time. They moved to Brooke in 2006, then back to Poringland until their final move to Loddon two years ago.

Cars were a big part of his life, he loved the Jaguars he owned for over 30 years. He also loved aviation, attending many airshows, including Duxford as well as many local ones. The highlight being his two flights in a Boeing Stearman at Old Buckenham and many flights with Alan Youngs at Seething.

Stirling and Shelagh both loved their holidays. Including visits to Australia to visit his brothers and their families, the part of the former Yugoslavia which became Montenegro, the Canary Islands (Fuerteventura being the favourite) and more recently Portugal.

Stirling was a great cook, his speciality being the BBQ and excellent Sunday roasts.

He will be sorely missed by his loving wife, family and friends.

I remember the day I took him to the hangar at Manston. It was like watching a young boy being given the chance to see his dream place. His engineering background really shone through and it was a pleasure to be able to take him there. RIP Stirling, you are sorely missed. All of the Murphy and Willey family send their condolences and best wishes.
