In loving memory of Ronald Reid who sadly passed away on 12th April 2026

Ronald “Ronnie” Reid
25 December 1964 – 12 April 2026

Ronald Reid, known to most as Ronnie, was born in 1964 to Valarie Reid and was raised on Rosemary Avenue in Mansfield, where he spent much of his childhood. He attended High Oakham Primary School before going on to Brunts School.

He later moved to Ladybrook with his wife Diane, where they built their life together and went on to have two children, Jessica and Jonathon.

Ronnie leaves behind his devoted wife Diane, his partner since the age of 15 and his wife since 1988 — a lifetime of love and commitment that defined so much of who he was. He also leaves behind his children, Jessica Reid and Jonathon Reid, and his adored granddaughters, Lexi-Aleah, Bonnie-Rae, Hallie-Thea, Vivienne, and Zara-Daisy, who brought him immense pride and joy. Ronnie was also a loving owner to his beloved dog, Timmy.

Although Ronnie leaves us heartbroken, he is now reunited with loved ones who went before him — his sister Caril and her son Karl, his brothers Wayne and Colin, his mother, and even his cherished budgie, Bella.

Ronnie truly was a character. He had a deep love for music, dancing, and karaoke, often saying, “Music is what matters.” Known affectionately as “Purple Ronnie,” he had a laugh so big and infectious it would quite literally turn him purple — something no one who knew him will ever forget.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ronnie will be laid to rest at Mansfield Crematorium on 8th May at 10am, followed by a wake at the William IV (Top House). All who knew him are welcome to join us, not only to say goodbye, but to celebrate the life of a man who meant so much — a Dad, a Husband, a Grandad, and a true friend.

All our love,
Diane, Jess, Jim & the girls xx
