In loving memory of our dear friend Jean Alice Sumner who sadly passed away on 9th April 2026 at the age of 89.
As we all know, Jean was an extremely charitable and giving lady, who helped those she believed to be in need, with immense generosity, both financially and physically (when she was able).
She supported many charities throughout her life, and she would want to do so now at the end of her Earthly journey.
With this in mind, we ask that instead of flowers, donations be made to one or both of Jean's favourite charities, St Christopher's Hospice, & RNLI.
Jean lived very close to the hospice for 50 years; the next road in fact! She supported them at every opportunity and honoured their work. She didn't live too close to a lifeboat station (!) but was always in awe of the volunteers who risked their own lives to save others.
Thank you for the friendship, support & laughter you have all shared with Jean. Let's remember her with love, fondness and affection by sharing memories here too.
