Eventhough I knew Brian for such a short time in 1978, I have a warm, endearing, happy and enduring memory of him. As the wife of Australian cricketer, Glen Bailey, I worked behind the bar at the cricket club on several occasions. Brian took great delight in requesting drinks in the thickest, broadest Geordie accent he could muster, knowing full well that I couldn’t understand a word, let alone know what something called a ‘blank and tan’ was. He would have the whole club laughing. I loved his cheeky grin. Rest in peace Brian.
