Passed away peacefully on Sunday, 12th April 2026, aged 83 years. Edward passed away surrounded by the warmth and love of his family.
Born in Sowerby Bridge, but lived in Holmfirth for the past 46 years, Edward was a man defined by his dedication and service. He proudly served for 30 years in the West Yorkshire Fire Service, a career marked by bravery and a commitment to helping others.
He was the loving husband of Janice and a proud father to Steve, Shery, and Samantha. A deeply devoted grandfather and great-grandfather, he was the cornerstone of his family and will be profoundly missed.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Paramedics, the staff in Accident and Emergency, and nurses on the Acute Care Ward at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for their compassion and care.
We will be saying our final goodbyes on Tuesday, 12th May 2026, 11:15 am at Huddersfield Crematorium
Everyone is very welcome to join us at the crematorium to celebrate Edward’s life. We’ll be heading to Meltham Golf Club afterwards to share some stories and a few refreshments.

Hi Janice, I worked with Eddie from 1966 to 74 at Huddersfield and enjoyed working with him. I have lots of good memories of going to fires with him and the fun we had around the station. Please accept my sincere condolences, Wayne Stocks, Christchurch, New Zealand.
