I had the pleasure of knowing Brian both as a pupil at de Ferrers High School and then again when I returned to teach there, where he was my first head of faculty. His support and passion for de Ferrers was almost legendary. If he were a stick of rock he would have had the words “de Ferrers” running through his core! As someone at the beginning of my career, he was incredibly supportive. I was in awe of how he could simultaneously appear so busy, often running here and there at what felt like a hundred miles an hour, yet at the same time be so calm. The thing I will always remember most was his kindness and compassion. A true gentlemen. Rest in Peace, Brian.

Mr Heather was one of a kind! One of the best teachers that school ever had! He would know how to put a smile on your face when it needed it the most. I am honoured to have known him.

Thank you for everything Sir.

May you rest in peace with the angels.

Brian was the kindest of people. He used to dash around at school doing 10 jobs at one and saying ‘One day, I’ll meet myself coming back’. He did a HUGE amount to support musical activities over the years. Rest I peace lovely man. The world is poorer without you in it. God bless xxx

Sorry to read about Mr. Heather. He was my teacher at the old Technical High School in the 1960's. Such an inspiring teacher and very fair and caring. I always enjoyed his lessons. Sincere condolences to his family
