In loving memory of Dave Rees who sadly passed away on 30th March 2026.
On the 1st May we will be remembering and celebrating the life of Dave Rees, devoted husband, father & grandfather. We will miss his wisdom, love and support.
Dave loved his sport, whether playing himself, coaching, watching his sons or grandchildren or just generally watching it live or on TV. He passed on this love for sport to his sons and grandchildren who are all keen sports people. It made him very proud to see them all enjoy the great things that sport can give you, like life long friends of which Dave made many.
We hope you can join us to celebrate more about Dave’s life & loves but if you are unable to be with us in person we would love to receive your messages of reflection on your connection with Dave.

The celebration of his life will follow the ceremony at Mapperley Plains Social Club, Plains Rd, Mapperley, Nottingham NG3 5RH

Family flowers only please. Donations in Dave’s memory are kindly welcomed — please follow the links if you wish to donate.

So sad to see this he was a true sportsman who held values and morals as a basic human principle, traits handed down through his sporting sons. Massive loss and huge respect for this man from all ex Notts alliance and Nottinghamshire senior league match officials

Gareth and family. So sorry for your loss. Dave was a genuinely good man and always so great with the kids when they were young. He had a natural way with them, always engaging, always kind, and those moments won’t be forgotten.
He’ll be very much missed. Thinking of you all at this time. The Aussie Muller’s.

I have great memories of Dave from chasing the budgie round the house to smashing panes of glass in his garage to the electricity board social club. In addition to this comes fantastic memories playing
cricket (a few more LBWs wouldn't have gone a miss mind!). Just a great bloke who will be fondly remembered by all and sadly missed by all.

Dave was a true gentleman when ever I refereed at Boots FC during the time that his sone Kevin and Gareth played Dave was always there. He always made time to speak and regardless of what had happened during the game he would still come and have a good conversation with that smile he always had on his face and as always very sporting. I would say that he was one of the very few of gentleman of the football sport in fact a legend. My sincere condolences to a great family. RIP Dave it was an absolute pleasure to have known you.
