I feel sad that you could have had such a full life with your children and grandchildren, but without you knowing - your capacity to see this was blinded by so many other difficulties and challenges from life’s experiences.

As an Allen, you were stubborn - but I’m pleased for you that you found a more settled life near Greg and his family….

I pray you have now found your absolute peace and comfort within the arms of spirit and know how your life impacted others … and still loved.

  • Hi Claire--- you have voiced that so clearly....and so truthful....he did not change, right up to when he died... We all need healing...I think for me, the final healing was 2day... xxx

Well george my old sausage he's finally caught you. I couldn't wish for a better neighbour than you. Your sincerity and wit always made me laugh. I will miss chewing the fat over our fence putting the world in its place. You were a good friend and I thank you for looking out for christine when I work away which could be for long periods. Even to the point when you asked if we were still together as you hadn't seen me for a few weeks. We miss you old friend, rest well George.

Dear George,
I wish you peace and rest. You are in my thoughts and prayers, and I pray that you find comfort and eternal calm. You will be remembered, I often think about our funny chats together with Charlie in the Harper House.

In memory of Bryn George Alken.
Bryn I composed this poem around the year 2000 and you loved it.
LIFE.
Minutes tick
Hours pass
Days come, days go
Years enter, years exit.

Life journeys through each stage,
We cannot undo, but we can unfold,
We cannot go back, but we can go forward.
We dare not give up, but we dare to accomplish.
We dare not avoid, but we dare to confront.

Life is supreme, copious,
Live it with Gusto, Gratis and Gratitude.
Hold hands with sagacity,
she knows lifes origins,
She breathed....life was born.

It’s sad that you’re gone, Georgie, but there’s comfort in knowing you’re no longer suffering.

We shared so many happy times together—especially those drinks at the Walmer Castle in Westgate and the pubs around your homes in Kent. Memories I’ll always treasure.

You were such a supportive and great best man. I’ll never forget how many brandies we took before the speeches— you were amazing on the day.

I’ll always remember your strength of character, your fun-loving and sometimes crazy spirit, and how you stood up for what you believed in—rightly or wrongly. You were never afraid to speak your mind and always stayed true to yourself. As you used to say, “I am what I am, and what I am, I am.”

You had such a deep love for animals, especially dogs. I know how much you cared about Charlie our family dog and how sad you were when he passed. You loved those videos of Charlie we sent you and missed him dearly.

Rest in peace, dear Georgie. Say hello to the family up there—and don’t forget to give Charlie a big kiss from us xx
