In loving memory of Judith Smith who sadly passed away on 20th March 2026.

Judith was born in Whitehaven in Cumbria and grew up in Carlisle. She met and married Malcolm Smith before moving to live in Hawick, Scotland. Their son Murray was born there, before the family moved to Arbroath. In 1972 they moved to Woodborough in Nottinghamshire just a month before their daughter Julie was born. They lived on Aldene Way for over 50 years.

Judith was an active member of the village community association for several years, helped out arranging flowers in the church and worked part-time in the Four Bells during the 1980s.

In her later years Judith lived with dementia. She moved into a care home in 2023 and Malcolm would visit regularly. While she didn't know who we were in the last few years of her life, they were still filled with happiness, dancing, laughter and chocolate.

For the funeral, we have no formal dress code, please feel free to wear any colour of smart/casual clothing. Instead of flowers, please consider giving a donation to Dementia UK to help fight this cruel disease.
