In loving memory of Derrick Valentine who sadly passed away on 25th February 2026.
Dad/Pop/Derrick lived a full and overall enjoyable life, through years of being mainly a miner.
Married to Ivy, (Mum, who passed away on 16th May 2007), he had always been around the Chesterfield area, before moving to Mansfield in late 2007 and living on his own.
He always enjoyed his food and being outside, and you always knew if he was off his food, he was not at full strength, but that wasn't very often.
Up to his last visit and stay in hospital, he was still cooking his food and living indepedently, with the assistance of Carers morning and evening.
He passed exactly 3 months short of his 103rd birthday, so you could say that was a pretty full life.
Always had a smile, complained about sport, especially when results in football for Chesterfield and Liverpool did not go as planned.
Happy memories.....he's now at peace, hopefully with Mum and who knows, maybe has reconciled with his twin sister...
