Grandma Anukware, as I affectionately called you,

Thank you for the many years of love, warmth, and kindness.

I will deeply miss our long phone calls, always filled with loving counsel, faithfully ending in prayer, and then your familiar question: “When next are you coming to see me?”

I find comfort in knowing that you are resting peacefully with your Maker, because of your unwavering Christian faith, a faith rooted in love, kindness, and grace. You did not just speak of God’s love; you lived it every single day, even until your final hours, which you spent in church.

Thank you for your encouragement, your gentle wisdom, and for always being someone we could turn to. Your presence brought comfort, and your faith brought strength, not only to you, but to all of us.

Thank you for everything you gave, everything you were, and everything you continue to inspire in us.

Though you are gone, you will never be forgotten.

“Baba na wo” Mama.
Rest in eternal peace.

The path of eternal glory leads first to the grave with the body but the soul rests with the eternal Father. We cannot immortalise what is mortal. Death is inevitable but how it happens is our praise.
Your presence in church that day was your announcement of your victorious transition to your maker. What gladdens our hearts is that in peace you transitioned. The pain is we cannot hold you in our arms and talk to you; the joy is you are with your maker and hear us.
Auntie, you gave unto us (the church) your treasure ( your daughter and grandchildren) and with gratitude and love we relate with them. It was a joy to aways have you in church and had a long talk with you after church service. You never missed Sunday church service with us when you joined us even though you might not have felt strong enough. That indicates the power of your great conviction and commitment to God.
We grieve but for a moment; but with an everlasting joy shall we remember you.
We reason with Paul that that which is corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality. Live forever with the Father.

I remember the first day Angela introduced me to you—your warm, infectious smile and how happy you looked in the house of the Lord.
I remember telling Angela to give you special treatment when bringing you to church, by dropping you right at the front. It always brought me joy to see you.
I remember the last day I saw you. You were in deep conversation, I came to say hello and check in on you—not knowing it would be the last time.
It was a blessing to fellowship with you. Even though you are no longer with us, we continue to hear so many beautiful things about you.
Ma, may your soul rest in perfect peace.

Ma, it was a blessing to have you fellowship with us in church. Your enthusiasm to participate, even when you weren't feeling strong, was truly inspirational. I'm so glad I met you and got to know you.

One Sunday, I remember you called me aside and said, "Pastor, I'm sorry I cannot stand up and shout, jump, and dance in church as I want to…" That moment showed your deep love for the house of God. I can see that your children and grandchildren have been raised in the same manner.

Ma, rest in perfect peace.

I recall approaching you at church on the day you left to be with the Lord. I inquired about your well-being, and you answered that you were fine, expressing gratitude. Following the service, I presented you with spring rolls, and you accepted them. Little did I realise it would be the final occasion I would serve you spring rolls. I know that you are now at rest with your Lord. Continue to rest in perfect peace, Mum. MSCI Maidstone will forever miss you .

My heart is sad, but I thank God for your life. Every Sunday in church when I sing and praise God, I will remember you. You loved God so much, and you were always kind and full of joy.

You were very adorable, and I will miss you deeply. But I believe you are now with the Lord, at peace.

The Bible says, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8)

Rest well, Grandma. I love you and will always remember you.

I didn’t have many encounters with Anty Honesty but I remember making her coffee after church and seeing her gentle presence. When I heard on that Sunday that she had passed, I was truly shocked, especially as I wasn’t there that day. Even in those small moments, her kindness was felt, and she will be remembered.
