In loving memory of Lisa Danielle Pirie who sadly passed away on 28th February 2026
Lisa was a dedicated mum, partner, teacher, sister and daughter. She cared deeply about the world and everyone in it. She was someone who made a real difference in her too brief time on earth and will be greatly missed by family, friends, colleagues and students.

Lisa was a gift for everyone that met her. I had the pleasure of working with her for years at Willowfield School, we were sharing the same teaching space. Lisa was a great teacher, her voice still in my ears guiding the students. After the lessons, Lisa used to stay back preparing and organising – I often interrupted her work sharing something, Lisa being a very insightful listener. The past few years, Lisa, our friend Christine and I met to catch up. Lisa’s words carried gravity but also great humour. I remember her smile, her infectious laughter, her passion for music. Lisa was full of care and love, you could feel it from the warmth she was speaking about her family. She will always be remembered in the hearts of the people who have known her: smiling with a Smiths song playing in the background.

I have known Lisa for twenty years. We taught together at Willowfield School, we were both learning support teachers and worked very closely with each other. Lisa was such a wonderful colleague- calm, gentle, patient, reliable, incredibly organised and hardworking.
We became friends and when she moved out of the city we kept in touch and met up for art exhibitions, gigs and in the last few years every term for lunch and a catch-up with our friend Thanos. Lisa was a wonderful friend to me. She was incredibly supportive, checking in if something difficult was happening, making sure I knew she was thinking of me and that she was there for me. I hope she felt that I was there for her too.
I am going to miss her kindness, her laughter, her gentle nature, her good soul and her gentle love.
She has been from us taken far too early and it’s hard to compute that she isn’t here anymore but her light shines on and won’t go out.
I send love to her family and friends and all who have had the pleasure of knowing her.

Me and Lisa both had an interest in Japanese art & culture.Lisa took this photo of us at the Hiroshige exhibition at the British Museum. I love this pic of Lisa, such a natural happy pose. We had talked about a walking tour of Japan on retirement.
