I am so proud of my seven children and I am confident I will have their support for the rest of my life. They and my eleven grandchildren are Louise’s greatest legacy.
I also have my brothers; and Louise’s brothers and sisters; and countless cousins, and some very close friends who I know I can also lean on, should the need ever arise.
I am truly blessed. I have been overwhelmed by the kind messages and memories from a myriad of other friends, old and new, some strangers to me until Louise’s passing. There are no words that can express my immense gratitude.
But, I am greedy. This obituary page will be active for years. As time passes it will fall further down the chain but it will remain accessible. Please continue to visit it and leave a message or light a candle, whenever the “Loverly” Louise enters your thoughts. It gives me, and will continue to give me, great comfort.
Thank you all again.
Love
Derek

The day after a football match in the northeast. Louise enjoyed our visits there, especially as we would meet up with our friends Maurice and Chrissy (who took this photo).

Another of my poorly taken snapshots. I think this was Brighton, with our now grown-up eldest daughter, Annabelle. Louise was not a strong swimmer but she loved to take her shoes off and go for a paddle (often then complaining that her dress had got wet!)

Taken 3 years ago today, in NY
Taken 7 years ago today in Venice
Taken 3 years ago to the day. Somewhere in New York City (Central Park to be more precise)

I think this was taken at Osmington Mills. Just a simple snap of Louise being Louise and having fun.
After years of juggling coursework with her job and home-life, Louise achieved her BA from the OU in 2011 (I thought her graduation was later than that). "Better late than never" she simply said, typically understating her pride.
We went to Brussels by Eurostar in 2004. We were typically late for the train we booked and had to get the next one. It didn't spoil our weekend away though. Louise was always reluctant to be photographed but "posed" for this one.
Taken 2003, Cyprus, during our first holiday abroad. Louise looks incredibly relaxed feeding that camel. My memory was that she was a bit intimidated by them. She was likely showing the children that there was nothing to be afraid of.
Taken 24th September 1977.
Louise didn't do facebook but, when I went to post this, she suggested it should be upside-down. Taken on the first day of our holiday in Australia.
I came across this today. Stamped 1974. This would roughly be when I first saw Louise working p/t in Waitrose, but a short time before our long-term romance began.
I started writing this the day after Louise passed...it had been such a beautiful spring evening...then a full moon...and we were, and are still, all so full of love and sadness.
Taken in Bath last year at the Mary Shelly museum. Louise horror films especially B movies. The older and cornier the better. Occasionally I'd watch with her, just so we could laugh at the outdated special effects.
Taken near Pathos Castle in 2021
A pretty poor photograph I took in Prague last year. It was outside the shop attached to the Lennon wall. I wanted to use it, because it illustrates Louise's insatiable and infectious curiosity. She wanted to discover something new every day and share it.
This was taken more than 20 years ago, when Louise and I were on a Nile cruise. Ancient Egyptian history was one of Louise's many interests.
Taken in New York a couple of years ago. I think we might have done our oft repeated Simpson's joke. Me: "I love you". Louise: "Are you talking to me or the beer?"
