Sheila Diana Ayres passed away peacefully on 13 February 2026 at the age of 83. A devoted sister,wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sheila lived a life filled with love for her family and friends.
She was married to her beloved husband, Rolfe Ayres, for 49 years and was a proud mother to Jane and Andrew. Grandmother to Lewis, Elizabeth and Luke. Granny great to Harper. Family was always at the heart of her life, and being a homemaker and mum was her greatest joy.
In her early years, Sheila worked as a secretary at Wardens Builders and later spent many years working at the local library. After retiring, she remained a familiar and friendly face around Kirkby, where many people enjoyed stopping to chat with her during their weekly shopping trips.
Sheila loved knitting when she was younger and, in later years, enjoyed puzzles and always had a good book in her hand. She lived, she loved, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
