In loving memory of Stephen Joseph Steer who sadly passed away on 17th February 2026.
Steve was born and raised in Battersea, but spent most of his life in Sittingbourne.
He wasn’t the kind of man you simply met — he was the kind you remembered. Loved deeply, unforgettable to many, and someone who made life brighter for anyone lucky enough to cross his path.
He had a big heart and a mischievous streak, always ready with some banter, a bit of cheek, or a well‑timed wind‑up. He loved a chat — with friends, neighbours, or complete strangers.
Gardening out the front of the house on Fox Hill could take him hours because he’d stop to talk to everyone who walked by, and the friendly beeps from passing cars were a constant soundtrack to his day.
Dad was a true family man: a devoted husband, a proud father of three, and later a doting grandad who adored Hollie, Eliza and Harper.
We were lucky to share so many memories with him — family holidays in Gambia and Tenerife, a wedding celebration in Vegas, trips to Dubai, and childhood breaks at Butlins and Haven. Not every memory was perfect (we’re looking at you, Champions League final in Moscow), but we made up for it a few years later in Amsterdam.
Outside of family, his two great passions were running and Chelsea.
At family celebrations, it became tradition to lift the guest of honour onto our shoulders while playing Blue Is the Colour.
He’s gone on ahead now, but not far. We know he’s somewhere smiling, chatting, winding someone up — and definitely asking them which route they took to get there.
Safe journey
We’ll carry your laugh, your love, and your spirit with us always.

Uncle Steve was always an incredible uncle, giving time to myself, Tom, Jake, Oliver and Ronnie. He had a great sense of humour and was always there when we needed him. The angels have gained a legend x Melanie x 💙
A night I will never forget. Thank you for always making me feel a part of the family. Rest in peace 💙💙💙
Family time will never be the same without you but we will always carry you with us ❤️

Rest in peace my dearest Uncle Steve. So many wonderful memories but I will always remember the “S” tree and you spending hours in the bath a Birkbeck Hill. I am so glad I spent the week with you in November watching Teneable and Harry Wild. 🥰🥰🥰
