Thinking of Our BeautifulAunt Catherine. My Daddy's wee sister. Aunt Catherine is the last of the old generation. She was a real lady. Sge looked liked Audrey Hepburn so beautiful. She was so kind to all of us when we were growing up. We will never forget you Aunt Catherine. You will be so missed by all who knew and lived you.
RIP.
Love you always Aunt Catherine. You will be in Heaven with all our beautiful family.

Love you always.
Always in my prayers xx

Retta Tranter donated £50 in memory of Catherine

I remember standing at the window at the top of our stairs with my dad as a child, looking at the lights in the distance, and he would say, “That’s where your Aunt Catherine lives.” It was his way of making sure she was part of our family- reminding us of her and letting us get to know her from afar.

Even though the distance made it hard to know her closely, she never felt far away. Dad was so proud of his sister, and the special bond between them was clear in everything he said.

When I moved to England as an adult, she visited me a a few times, and even in those brief visits I saw the warmth and kindness I had always known from childhood.
Rest in peace, Aunt Catherine. You were dearly loved.

I am so very sorry to hear this news. Catherine was a wonderful lady who I met when I was on the local Christian Aid committee. I recall that we would have meetings in Catherine's and her husbands home in Oaklands, and Catherine was always a lovely host. The last time I met Catherine was when the Salvation Army Band went up to Downs House to play Christmas Carols in December 2024 and although she had lost much of her sight, she recognised my name and voice and we had a very warm and friendly chat. Catherine always had an infectious smile and a friendly word. I know that she will be missed by those who knew her well.
