Rachel, you truly were one of a kind. For you, that saying is not an exaggeration. Fun, witty, caring, mischievous and always positive. Thank you for being you. There are so, so many things I will remember and that will make me smile and laugh. Your time was too short but you used it well! Xx

A lovely lady and volunteer listener colleague. No doubt she was a kind Samaritan to many in people in her life.

Rachel I can’t quite believe you can be gone, I thought we had all the time in the world to get together again.
Thank you for the times you dragged me on one of our adventures, hilarious jaunts to Margate and Brighton will never be forgotten!! But also thank you for the ridiculous times of watching tv together for hours over the phone hundreds of miles apart, you were always great company!
I’m so glad you kept having new adventures and fulfilling your dreams well into your 50’s!!
You have left me with memories I will always treasure. I will miss you my lovely friend.

Dear Rachel,

I was so very saddened to hear of your passing. I remember you starting your teaching career at MGGS all those years ago, it actually doesn't seem that long but I know how much you contributed to your craft and how loved you were by so many. You were so funny and kind. I can't attend your service but I'll be thinking of you and your family.

Much love from
Louise

Dearest Rach. You embraced life with your love and your laughter and your loyalty, and in allowing me to be your friend, you taught me to embrace it to, to sing, to dance, to be silly, to be sad, to be human. You were part of my family and always beside me, at our daughter's wedding, at my father's funeral, taking me and David for a wonderful holiday in Belgium, coming on numerous theatre trips and outings and adventures, even accompanying me on that ridiculous pilgrimage to Knock where you charmed everyone and even ran the coach tours! I shall miss your wonderful spirit every day and can only hope you are feasting and chatting now with our dear Frances and Bren. My beloved friend, you will be forever in my heart. Chrissy xxx

You were the life and soul of any gathering from staff room to parties - always witty and insightful. You were loved by so many, both staff and students and gave so generously of your time. And I will never forget your life size Barack cut out in your classroom that made me smile every morning! Rest in peace dear Rachel.

Rach you were the best friend and the best Godmum. Thank you for your constant support, love and care. From rushing Pip to A and E at a few months old to being her first emergency contact in her phone at 12. We could not have chosen a better person to help us raise our daughter. You taught her to be sassy (thanks so much for that!!), to stand up for herself and to be compassionate.

You helped me through every rough patch and celebrated the highlights. I will particularly miss our chess games and the messages of “you cheeky little minx” when I got one of your pieces. I miss the laughter and piss taking already. You have been part of our family for so long - there is a large hole left behind.

Rest peacefully my friend. Know you are very very loved.
