Truly sorry to hear of your passing.
The kindest Diane — you taught both of our children, and later became the most wonderful early years colleague.
Kindness doesn’t always come naturally, but you had that gift in abundance. And resilience… you found a way to help every child at preschool discover their own path, their own courage.
You lived life with such joy and laughter. I can still hear you now — that giggly, infectious laugh that would float across the preschool, usually at something ridiculous I’d done or said. You always made me feel more myself.
A memory I will never forget is when you and Marion had to gently correct my daughter at circle time, when she proudly announced that her full name was “Arabella Unicorn Flamingo.” You both kept the giggles at bay, helped her feel heard, and still guided her back with kindness. Only you could make a moment like that both hilarious and heartwarming.
Diane, you were a wonderful colleague, a friend, a devoted wife to your lovely John, and a cherished Mum and Granny to your beautiful family. You will be so deeply missed.
What a legacy you leave behind. Those who were taught by you, worked alongside you, or found friendship in you were truly privileged. We will carry your kindness forward.
Rest in peace, Diane.
