It is with great sorrow that Janet, Joanne & Suzy announce the passing of our beloved Husband/Dad Jim on the 7th of January 2026.

He passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Jim was born in 1946 in East London to Bill and Ruth Partlett and was the eldest of 4 children, Ronnie, Cathy and Billy.

He didn’t much like school from what we remember him saying, and couldn’t wait to leave.

Jim had many jobs after leaving school, but the one that he spoke of the most was his job in the trouser factory. He always said that he earned more from ‘long term borrowing trousers’ to sell, than he did from his honest earned wages. Selling the trousers on gave him and mum enough money to save for the deposit on their first house in Stanford -Le-Hope, ready to move into after marrying Janet in August 1972.

Jim was a big family man. He was at his happiest when his girls, Joanne and Suzy, their husbands Neil and Dean and all his grandchildren were around him.

It would mean so much to the whole family if you could join us on the 2nd February in celebrating Jim’s life, first for a small service at Basildon Crematorium, and then afterwards for a spot of lunch along with lovely stories about Jim at The Riverview Cafe (Hullbridge Yacht Club) SS5 6PZ

The family have requested no flowers, however if you would like to donate, there is a Just giving page attached for Alzheimer’s Society.
