In loving memory of Arthur Simmons, who sadly passed away on 8th January 2026.
Arthur was a much-loved husband to Wendy, caring older brother to Pat, and supportive and loving Dad to Lisa, Sharon, and Nicky. He was a wonderfully proud Grandad to Dan, Zac, Georgia, Erin, and Jess, and most recently experienced the joy of welcoming his first great-grandson, Finn.
Everyone who knew Arthur understood that family mattered more than anything. If anyone was in need of a helping hand, he was always the first to offer to help with whatever was needed—be it fixing something broken, airport pickups, or just providing the right tool for the job from his many sheds!!
Dad spent most of his working life at BAT, a career he enjoyed that offered many opportunities to see the world and meet new people. This continued into his retirement, where he took on the Chairman's role for the local BAT Pensioners, always ready to create a quiz or host a coffee morning!
Dad lived such a rich life, with many of you sharing special memories already—whether it was the annual golf tour, summer BBQs, birthday fireworks, or his love of Christmas.
He has been central to so many lives, all of whom have benefited from his love, friendship, and generosity.
Arthur / Dad, you are leaving a wonderful legacy, and we will continue this in your memory. No more pain now.
The family would like to invite you to join us for the funeral service at Test Valley Crematorium on the 3rd February at 2.00 and then back to Romsey Golf Club to remember and celebrate Dad’s life and legacy (3.15 -5.30). Please use the attendance tab to let us know re numbers.
Family flowers only, but if you wish to make a donation in memory of Dad, you can use the links on this site to charities that helped us create some lasting memories and close to Dad’s heart - thank you xx
