Dr. Satish Kumar Jain

October 5, 1947 – January 4, 2026

Dr. Satish Kumar Jain peacefully passed away on January 4, 2026, having completed 78 meaningful years of life. He was the beloved son of the late Gian Chand Jain and Prakash Devi Jain, and devoted husband of late Babla Jain, all of whom he loved deeply. A pillar of strength, kindness, and quiet wisdom, he was an exceptional son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor, and friend.

Dr. Jain lived a life guided by integrity, compassion, and selfless service. Known for his sharp intellect and gentle demeanor, he earned profound respect both professionally and personally. He was a man of principles and remained strong through difficult periods. As a physician, he dedicated his life to healing, offering not only medical expertise, but also reassurance, empathy, and humanity to all who crossed his path. Affectionately referred as “Dr. Saab” he was a guiding light to the medical community and to countless patients who cherished his skill, humility, and unwavering dedication.

Above all, Satish was a proud and devoted father to his daughters, Reena, Rakhee, and Pooja, who were the centre of his world. He found immense joy in his role as a grandfather to Anaishaa Malhotra, whose presence brought him boundless happiness. He is also lovingly remembered by his sons-in-law, Dean M Chetty and Tarun Malhotra, whom he embraced as his own sons.

Dr. Jain, oldest of 4 siblings, is survived by his brothers - Dr. Sushil Kumar Jain, Saroj Kumar Jain, and Sunil Kumar Jain, with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories, deep mutual respect, and strong family bonds. He also shared warm and affectionate relationships with his sisters-in-law, Laxmi Jain, Kavita Jain, and Anita Jain.

He maintained close and loving ties with his wife, Babla Jain’s siblings and their spouses - the late Padam Jain and his wife Chand Jain, Satish and Anju Jain, Babbi and Rita Jain, the late Abhinandan Jain, Rakesh and Pinki Jain - treasuring the unity, love, and strength of these extended family relationships.

Dr. Jain will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, extended family, colleagues, patients, and friends whose lives he touched through his kindness, thoughtful counsel, and generosity of spirit. Those who knew him will remember his calm presence, unwavering values, and the quiet wisdom he shared so freely.

While his professional life was marked by dedication and excellence, it was his love for his family that defined him most deeply. His presence brought comfort, his guidance inspired confidence, and his compassion left an enduring impression on all who knew him.

Though his physical presence is no longer with us, Dr. Satish Kumar Jain’s memory remains a source of inspiration and solace. His legacy lives on through the lives he healed, the family he nurtured, and the values he embodied. He is remembered not for the way his life ended, but for the grace, purpose, and impact with which he lived.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, love, and support received during this difficult time.

With Love and Remembrance,
Reena, Rakhee, Pooja & Anaishaa

Dr Jain was an accomplished Doctor, father brother and above all, most loving, kind human being. After his wife left, his devotion to take care of his girls set him as a role model for many. I had a short spell of time spent when the family arrived back from UK. But whatever little time of interaction I had, he was rare kind of personality with all the best attributes.

Some people lead with big words but Jijaji led with quiet, steady grace. When I think back to our Lajpat Nagar days, I can still hear the all night Hungama, jagratas, the laughter, the chaos…the mess we left behind... and there he was, moving softly around us, putting things back in place while we slept, never asking for thanks, never wanting to be noticed...he just cared — simply, consistently and without fuss.
Watching him later become the emotional anchor for his daughters after didi’s passing showed a strength that was both gentle and profound.
Today, saying the Final Goodbye to him feels like the end of a chapter filled with some of our most precious memories.
Dear Jijaji, your quiet strength, your kindness and the love you gave so quietly will stay with us always. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

  • Dear Papa ji, I’ve been thinking a lot about the very first time I came to India in 2007. You didn’t just host me—you opened a whole new world to me. You showed me an India full of colour, possibility, and heart. From the moment I stepped into your home, you welcomed me as if I had always been part of your family. I never forgot that feeling of belonging. Your support over the years was something I came to rely on more than you probably ever realised. It was steady, warm, and unconditional—always there, no matter what was happening in life. You weren’t just a guiding presence for me. You became a true friend. I will miss our conversations, your gentle wisdom, and the way you always seemed to know exactly what to say without ever needing many words. What I will carry with me most is the love, care, and understanding you gave so freely. You had this rare ability to make people feel seen, valued, and safe. You gave so much of yourself to everyone around you. Your work—especially through your eye clinics—changed countless lives. You helped people see the world more clearly, and you helped me see life more clearly too. Many will feel your absence, but for me, it’s deeply personal. You were, and will always be, an important part of my life. Your memory isn’t something I’ll ever let fade. May you rest in peace, with great love and respect. Papa ji.
