In loving memory of Pamela Welsh-Black who sadly passed away on 15th December 2025, aged 86 years.
Pamela will be sadly missed & fondly remembered by sons Gary & Kevin, family and friends.
She lived in Twydall for many years & had been suffering with vascular dementia since being diagnosed in 2017 which eventually led to her being admitted into a care home back in Feb 2020.
Pam was fascinated by the wonders of nature in the world around her. She would always be observing trees, plants, flowers, the sky, the Sun & Moon, cloud formations, the sea & waves, & the ever changing seasons. She was always looking for places to explore & new things to see.
She especially enjoyed the marvels of what could be seen from just her own small garden, or from local parks & woods. These were all examples of God's beautiful creations, be it birds singing, squirrels feeding, foxes playing, storm clouds gathering, sunbeams shining, or rain drops falling. She looked up as often as she looked down & saw many things that others missed or couldn’t see.
Her generosity meant she would often donate to local charities & other good causes, including sponsoring the health & well-being of deprived & less priviliged people around the world. Her warm personality meant she was always welcomed & liked when attending coffee mornings at her nearby local church.
Pam always expressed a keen wish to keep everything as simple as possible in her life & the family have extended this beyond her life. She would prefer no frills & no fuss for the family, including no public ceremony & to this end, Pam had a private direct cremation. Her close family will celebrate her life & honour her memory at a future time & place yet to be confirmed.
If you knew Pam, please leave a message, light a candle, or make a kind donation to 'Wisteria Cat Rescue' using the options at top right of screen. Mum was always fond of cats & they were naturally attracted to her welcoming lap.
Pam left a lasting impression on all who knew her & now she will be looking down from above.
I wish to personally thank John Weir & especially Anna, for the extremely comforting support given to my family at this very difficult time.
RIP Mum, you left us with some wonderful, cherished memories.
Love , Gary

I'm uploading this heartfelt poem on behalf of my cousin Angela, who wrote it the day after my mum passed. I'm so warmed to read the beautiful sentiment shared reflecting mum's influence & impression on those she touched.

A absolutely gorgeous shot of Mum at Pine Lodge care home, Mar 2025, taken by Ilana. When Mum smiled like this, she made everyone else feel happy.

Mum loved to write poems about all the things she enjoyed in life. Her grandson Luke nicknamed her 'Poetic Pam' & she adored that name. This is one of her favourite poems, which was actually used by her care home in their newsletter back in Jan 2025.
