On 2nd December 2025 in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, aged 87 Years. Barry, adored Husband of Helen, much loved Dad of Michelle, Alison and Liz, treasured Grandad of Michael, Emma, Rebecca and Adam and great Grandad of Marlo. Will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. A private committal will take place at Dewsbury Moor Crematorium on Tuesday 23rd December 2025, followed by a service of thanksgiving for Barry's life at Longcauseway Church, Dewsbury at 10.45am. Friends please accept this intimation and meet at the church. Family flowers only, donations in lieu of flowers may be placed in the donation box on the day for the benefit of Ataxia UK and Ward 20 at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
There is limited on street parking around the Church and it can be difficult to find a space. Alternative parking can be found behind the town hall/Baptist Church or Railway Street car park.

Captain Barry. That is how he will always be remembered in our family of Ruth, Stephen and Liz. Many happy times at Idle Upper Chapel cricket ground, which barry put an great deal of time and effort into making sure a small ground and square were in the best shape possible to play cricket. i was just a journey man cricketer until Barry saw something in my play and decided a should open the batting, which I did boyh in the first and second teams for many years. He would always put his players ahead of himself, and that was what made him a great captain.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and neighbour Barry. He was a kind and gentle person and he will be greatly missed. Our heartfelt condolences go to his lovely wife Helen and daughters during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with them all.

I loved my visits to Barry and Helens with Liz. We talked about Rugby League and his love of French and he was always interested in my travels. I felt very special that he called me his fourth daughter. Sending all my love and will be thinking of you all Tracey NO. 4 XXXX
