We have had lots of jovial memories over a drink or two at the Travellers Rest Tickhill. Some of the old expressions used reminded me of the days long gone. Will now see his near lifelong friend Dave Crome.

Sorry to read that Stuart has passed away. I was his postie for many a year, he was definitely one of a kind. He will be missed by many. That front door won’t be the same without Stuart standing there. Deepest condolences to all family and friends. RIP Stuart

A very old school friend. So many memories of the 'Common Lane Gang' (Ob, Chus, Dobbin, Zoz and others). It was always great to catch up with Stuart, however infrequently. As has been mentioned here several times, a real gentleman who will be much missed.

Our Dear friend Stuart, we are missing you so much already . We used to speak everyday, or have a catch up over a cuppa. You had some fabulous stories and I bet I never got to hear them all 🥲.
You will leave a massive hole on Main Street it just won’t be the same not seeing you stood on the doorstep when we pass.
We will continue to talk about you with very fond memories.
R.I.P my lovely friend keep looking down on us all .
Sending love to John, Liz, Emma and his gorgeous grandson William 💔

I have so many memories of Stuart, most of which aren't suitable for a public forum! He will be much missed but has lived a full life bringing joy, laughter, asparagus, and eggs to generations of local people. He leaves a tremendous legacy and, sadly, his passing marks another step towards the extinction of a very special generation. Stuart was a local legend and his memory lives on in us all.
I am sorry I will not be able to make the funeral but I will certainly raise a glass!
Much love to you all at this very sad time - remember the good times.

Dear Stuart, we will miss you dearly. It was only two years ago we came to the village. You were the first person we met and our friendship grew then. We will miss our Sunday morning ‘catch-ups’.

A larger than life character with a great sense of humour, who said what he wanted, when he wanted!

He will be missed by (some) neighbours, old and new!
…he wouldn’t want to be missed by others!

The best strawberries and asparagus that I’ve ever eaten, and a great collection of old shotguns and tractors.

Take it easy Stuart, say hi to my folks will you. X
