I have known Gary for many years even when we didn't have contact for a few year's when we did talk it was always as family.
One of many memories of Gary back in 1981 my youngest son Neil was born I asked if someone could help bring Deb and Neil home from the hospital Gary was first to jump in for ever in me heart.
Thank you to all the family for making us welcome on a very sad day.
It was an honour and a privilege to be there and to be asked to carry my friend and colleague.
Sadly gone but never forgotten

Back home this evening preparing for German Christmas celebrations, beginning this evening, it is common place to do a meal at 18:00 followed by opening presents. Long day as I extendended my stay due to a cold (too late) . I would like to thank all the military friends who attended they made the day for Gary’s children who expressed a desire for a military expression as a final tribute to their dad. This was delivered in style, although a bearer party had been organised as part of the movement from the hearse to the final resting place a guard of ex military servicemen were given precedence to cunduct the drill under instructions from the funeral director. I’m very sure Gary felt safe in strong hands as we carried him to his last call. Apologies to the director but this was a guard of honor. RIP Gary few friends offer your strengths.

He was a work colleague aswell in L Bty on the OPs. Observation Post party's. Truly great times.
Sorry I never got to see him before today since 2014 in Néry itself.
You would have proud today buddy.
We carried you into the service after giving you a military salute.
Truly honoured to have been your friend. Rest easy pal. I'll party with you when we next meet. Love as always buddy. X

Gaz at Nery. Goodbye for now my old friend, eventually we will regroup at the battery bar in the sky. So many memories of great times together, some of which will air for the first time in the morning. Respect from family and friends.

For all the hugs and kisses we shared.
Thank you for the endless times we watched The Jungle Book together.
Sunday mornings will never be the same, but whenever I watch The Jungle Book, Daddy will always remind me that it was our film.

I don’t even know where to start or what to say, I have found it difficult to put into words how I feel. You came into my life and took on the role of dad. You were a confidant and someone I could always go to with my problems. You used to laugh and say how much I was like you in some ways, I suppose you left an everlasting print on me. I know that you were proud of me and Nigel and told me so on a few occasions. You loved your grandchildren and they will always have their memories to cherish. Whenever we spoke we would end with I love you.
So with a very heart I will leave this message with, I love you and sleep tight! 🩷x

In Loving Memory of Gaz Moore

Gaz lost his long and courageous battle with cancer. Gaz faced his illness with the same quiet strength, resilience, and humour that defined his life—a life marked by service, friendship, and unwavering spirit.

I had the honour of serving alongside Gaz in the 1980s, where his loyalty, wit, and calm under pressure left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Decades later, fate brought us together again—this time not in uniform, but in hospital corridors, as we both underwent treatment for cancer. In those moments, Gaz’s warmth and humour shone just as brightly. Over countless cups of coffee and tea, we shared stories, laughter, and the kind of camaraderie that only deepens with time and shared trials.

Gaz was more than a friend—he was a steady presence, a listener, and a man who never let hardship dim his kindness. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the memories he helped create, and the quiet courage he showed every day.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest easy, Gaz. You fought with grace, and you leave behind a legacy of strength and friendship.

You've been a great neighbour and friend over the years, we're gonna miss you buddy. Going to miss your undiluted non BS chats and views! How will we know when forest have scored now? your shouts heard through the walls used to make us jump. Feels weird that we haven't heard " Alfie, get down, ******** little ****" for a while. He's missing you though, he sits in your chair and keeps it warm. You can go for a walk with Cassie now. Your tour of duty is over, stand down and RIP Gary. Love and hugs to Mo and all the family.
