Funeral Director
In loving memory of Graham Richard (Wilf) Martin who sadly passed away on 4th December 2025.
Born in Harrogate, Graham was adopted from birth by Edward and Kathleen Martin and also had a younger brother, Steven, who sadly passed at the age of 5.
Graham spent his childhood in Shiptonthorpe village where he was schooled and made lifelong friends with Chris, Stuart and Ian.
In 1982 Graham met Deborah Hill from Foggathorpe and they started courting, eventually marrying at Bubwith church in 1986.
Shortly after their marriage they moved to Market Weighton where they bought a house and continued with their respective jobs, Debbie as a hairdresser and Graham, a self employed builder for local areas and around the UK.
In 1992 Graham and Debbie welcomed their first and only child, a son named Adam, who they doted on.
During his free time Graham loved nothing more than competing in sports with his friends such as Golf, Snooker, football, fishing and occasional shooting. Graham also loved going abroad on holiday with his friends and family, jetting off to places like Portugal, Spain, Greece and even Skiing in France and Canada.
Always a friendly and familiar face in his local pubs Graham would partake in a pint or 2 of John smiths and may even join in with a dance battle if he was in the mood!
In 2015 Graham became a Grandad (Grumpy) for the first time to Twin Grandsons, Phoenix and Leo. Eager to teach them his ways Graham would always be outdoors with them building or taking them fishing.
Grahams health suddenly declined in April 2025, with a devastating diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in June.
He started Chemotherapy in the following month of July for quality of life, but Graham decided that Chemo wasn’t what he wanted for himself.
After multiple hospital stays in November 2025 Graham was hospitalized with a complication due to his Cancer. With his health rapidly declining Grahams family made the agonising decision to keep him in hospital where the nurses could take care of him, untill he passed surrounded by his wife and son on the 4th of December.
We hope you remember Graham as he was and continue to talk about him in memory as he was, and always will be, a legend.
Thankyou.
