Always a visit full of laughs when you visited sister Flo and family in Brighton. Having 5 sugars in your tea! Hope you are not causing too much havoc now the siblings are back together!

Love from David, Debbie, Matthew and James Lewin

RIP John. I'll always remember you round at our house when I was little, organising trips to Wimbledon dog track, and talking to my Dad about the horse-racing. Hopefully you and he will meet again soon to discuss the form at Cheltenham and put a few quid on. Val says you were such a good friend to Bob and she'll always remember the good times you all had down The Nelson. Wishing all the family lots of love, from Lauren, Mark and Rory Simpson, and Val Hill XXXX

Grandad John — the legend. Grandad had this great way of showing us how even the most boring thing in the world could be turned into a laugh. He lived completely in the moment, never fussed or expected too much and he found so much joy in life’s simplest of pleasures. All his funny stories were always so valuable, like golden glimpses of the past that I’d be writing down before they disappeared and got lost in time and memory.

Time is the most valuable thing on earth and all those holidays, family gatherings, random days out that we did growing up— they’ll live on in my heart forever. I’ll miss his laugh, the way he could take the mick out of anything and I’ll miss updating him on my life. Although grandad may not have been the luckiest of gamblers, he definitely won at the game of life. Thank you for teaching us not to take life so seriously Grandad, you were the absolute best.

Until we meet again.
Holly xx

I will miss you every day, Grandad John. Christmas Day won’t be the same without you playing your favourite horse-racing game, with all of us gathered around having a little bet and laughing together. Those moments were pure joy, and they’re memories I will treasure forever.

Grandad brought joy into the everyday, and he taught us how important it is to laugh, to make memories, and to appreciate the little things. I will miss him deeply, but I’m so grateful for the laughter he gave us and the love he shared so generously. Love you always ❤️❤️❤️
