We now have lived 130 miles from Patrick’s sister since they moved to Leeds but we started out living quite close on the outskirts of London. In fact, when first married we briefly lived with Barbara and Michael in Twickenham until we set up on our own. We often enjoyed their hospitality as both Barbara and Michael were culinary experts and meals were followed by walks along the Thames or in Richmond Park. When we moved to the Midlands in 1989 we missed the social interaction but resumed it on retirement enjoying trips to the Yorkshire Dales. Recently we have missed their company as a result of the Pandemic and Barbara’s subsequent illness which we hoped would be much less malign. Now Patrick looks back at the life he shared with his sister in childhood first in Rome then North Kent and Farnborough near Bromley before he went away to boarding school after their mother's untimely death. He recalls the sisterly care she offered him and support when they were living in Sheffield as students . She will be sorely missed by Michael and all her family.

Dearest Katie and Alex and Mike and family.
We are very sorry that we will not be able to attend your lovely mums funeral.
I have an appointment with our solicitor to arrange for me to obtain an L.P.A before Carol loses competence.
She has progressive Alzheimers.
We will throw a loving hug 🫂 around you all on the 10th.
With much love ❤️ Malcolm and Carol F. XOXO 🐿
