SSAFA stands for Soldiers', Sailors', and Airmen's Families Association, which is the UK's oldest and largest armed forces charity. It provides lifelong practical, emotional, and financial support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families, including dependents and the families of those in the Armed Forces.
Who they support: The charity provides support to anyone who serves or has served in the British Armed Forces, and their families.
What they do: SSAFA offers help for a wide range of issues, including social, family, and financial problems. Their support is available through services like caseworkers, mentoring, and other programs to assist with issues like adoption and prison-in-reach.
How they provide support: They offer a variety of services, including practical advice and support, as well as emotional and financial assistance. They also engage in fundraising and other activities to support their work.
History: Founded in 1885, the charity has a long history of supporting the armed forces community.
