In loving memory of Elizabeth "Liz" Harvey who sadly passed away on 29th October 2025 at the age of 76. We can't quite believe that we are writing this obituary.
Liz was well known and liked in the village of Westcott where she lived for most of her life. Her story began up the road in Scotland. Daughter of Robert and Agnes Devaney. Liz was born 16th October 1949 in Springburn, Scotland. She was one of 7 children.
Liz's first job in Glasgow was in the famous Templeton Carpet Factory as a carpet weaver where she worked with her sister Anne.
Terry and Liz met in Jersey in 1969. Liz was working in a hotel. Terry was on holiday with his friends. Terry decided to go back to Jersey for another trip and that time brought Liz home to meet the Harvey family, she stayed and in 1973 they married and set up home together in Westcott.
Liz has worked in hospitality in hotels and pubs which she was so good at because of her smiley, welcoming nature. She also worked for Kuoni, Shell and in clerical administration at Unum.
Liz is most well known for her cheerful, friendliness and willingness to help anyone. Many of her neighbours remember with much appreciation, care she gave to those in need or elderly neighbours including lifts to appointments, shopping, errands or just company, numerous children she has looked after over the years.
Liz was happiest with her family. Terry, their four children Michelle, Joanne, Zoe and Terence and their families including 13 grandchildren will miss her deeply.

The funeral will be held at Randalls Park Crematorium, Leatherhead. 10:15am on Thursday 20th November 2025.

Close family flowers only.

Donations in Liz's memory to Macmillan Cancer Support.

To be honest, I was scrolling through the obituaries to see how long they are kept up for. I was thinking about the memories/tributes to my wife, recently passed.

Then I came across this. An obituary page for a woman I knew and admired. Mother of friends of some of my kids and I remember her warmth, friendliness and fun, when she ran the Prince in Westcott.

I know my loverly Louise's memory will be with me forever. Please know that, at times, I think of Liz too.
