In loving memory of David John Birchall who sadly passed away on 24th October 2025.
Dave’s funeral will be held on Friday 21 November (15.30) at Markeaton Crematorium, Derby, and all are welcome to join us afterwards at the Jonty Farmer, Kedleston Road, Derby, DE22 1FT, for a celebration of Dave’s life.
Family flowers only please, but we welcome donations in aid of St Giles Hospice, Lichfield.

I spent many happy hours playing for Allestree Rovers with Dave….a very talented player. My brother, who worked with him, tells me he was even better at the Telegraph crossword….. and was also the king of general knowledge. He also tells me he was the best freight engineer he ever came across. I feel honoured to have spent some time with him…how lucky was I. My condolences to all the family.
