Uncle Pete was such a kind, welcoming and lovely person. He always had a funny story to tell, and was always genuinly interested to hear how things were going. I have many happy memories of growing up and spending time with him - from sailing on his boat to sitting in the garden chatting on a summer evening. He was a lovely man and will be dearly missed. Love from Dan and Kim xxx

I am so sorry to read this and sending my condolences to Pete’s family and friends. I had the pleasure of working with Pete for a couple of seasons as coaches at Millwall RFC in the late 90’s and he was a lovely man to work with.

I don't know how to begin to describe the man my dad was. He was so full of life and happiness and laughter and warmth and love.
It's a wonderful feeling knowing our family were truly loved by him, and it will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Our brother in law Pete was positive, happy and generous of spirit. It was always a pleasure to be in his company. You couldn’t spend long with Pete before hearing the sound of laughter.
He was fiercely proud of, and devoted to, his wife Susan, their children, partners and grandchildren.
He went out of his way to welcome others into the family, putting them at their ease and showing an interest in what they had to say.
He was kind, generous and always ready to offer a helping hand.
His interest in the world around him meant he was intelligent, entertaining and knowledgeable company. A true force of nature.
He was part of our family for almost forty five years and we will all miss him very much.
Love from Janet and Tony xx

Pete was a wonderfully caring and gentle man, who had a brilliant sense of humour. He loved his family and his wife so fiercely, and I felt privileged to have been welcomed into their little bubble. Pete was a true people person; he saw the good in everyone and could start a conversation with just about anyone he came across. He knew so much about so many different things.
Pete was a truly wonderful father-in-law to me. Our hearts are broken that we have lost him so soon after his beloved wife.

Words cannot express the love I have for my Dad or the hurt I feel from losing him. He was the anchor for our family in good times and hard times. He was always there with helpful advice, a lighthearted chat or a loving embrace. He was as genuine as you could ask for. If you knew him, even briefly, you knew he would go out of his way make things even a little easier for you if you needed it.
He was witty and charming and funny and kind.
If ever he was introducing me to someone he knew through rugby or work or elsewhere he would say 'This is Chris, he's my boy' and it always felt like it was said with pride. I have always looked up to my Dad as a wonderful example of what it means to be a good man, and will always want to make him proud.
I love you Dad and I will miss you so much
