UPDATE:
Toni, Lyn and Trevor would like to thank everyone who attended the funeral, made a donation, or sent cards and messages of support. Your kindness meant a great deal to us. We feel that we were able to give our dad a send-off he would have been pleased with.
We know that some people were not able to be there on the day for various reasons. The service was recorded, and here is the link if you would like to watch it:

***********************
In loving memory of Anthony Edward Acott who sadly passed away on 10th October 2025. Also known as Tony, or the "Man in the Hat".
It is with deep sadness, that we announce that Tony passed away peacefully on 10th October 2025, just three months to the day after his dearly beloved wife, Pam. They had been together for nearly 72 years, and are now reunited.
Tony was a charming, intelligent, witty, generous, and truly lovely dad. He will be greatly missed by his children – Toni, Lyn, and Trevor – his grandchildren – Tim, Gary, Mark, Lauren, and Emily – and his great-grandchildren – Sam, Kasia, and Florence – as well as his wider family and many friends.
We would love for friends and family to join us as we gather to celebrate Tony’s life and say our farewells.
The funeral will take place at St Andrew’s Parish Church, Ashingdon at 2.30pm on Thursday 6th November 2025, followed by Tony’s interment in the churchyard.
After the service, we warmly invite you to join us at Saxon Hall for the reception. (Address details can be found at the bottom right.)
We would be grateful if you could kindly let us know if you are able to attend.
Due to poor internet connection at the church, we are unable to live-stream the service. However, a recording will be made, and a link will be shared here shortly after the funeral.
Instead of flowers, you may like to make a donation in Tony’s memory to the East Essex Hackspace (see JustGiving link, top right or go to https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/tonyacott). This community-run workshop and charity in Hawkwell, Essex, provides shared tools and space for makers, hobbyists, and innovators. Tony’s grandson Tim is one of its founding members, sharing Tony’s lifelong love of engineering.
In recognition of Tony’s passion for mechanics and restoring old motorbikes, donations will go towards a piece of equipment dedicated in his name, so that others can continue to build, create, and enjoy the satisfaction of making things – just as he always did. There will also be a donation box at the service.
