To all of Noel’s family, my sincere condolences, my thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Noel was a dear friend to my late father. From my younger years I have fond memories of him teaching me to play squash, a man of many talents, with a wonderful sense of humour.

Hi Dad, to feel the sadness of people's passing means we loved them dearly. I did i loved you dearly. From our first drive together. You picked me and Paul up from a party. A guy there assumed you were a taxi driver. You arranged to go back and pick him up. We laughed all the way back with you saying I wonder how long he will wait. I knew then where Paul got his cheeky character from. I remember the night I was in labour with Matthew. 19 hours in to a 21 hour labour you cane to check on us gone 11pm and the first thing you said to me was how you. Everything ok. I mean ya its great. 😆 but you stayed with Paul the whole time Matthew was taken and cared for in the special care unit. You even brought me Guinness in hospital while I was breast feeding. I loved watching you hold the babies, play with a napkin on your head, your special hand shakes as we left but most of all I loved you bbq's. You were the king of them. Please don't tell Paul I said that 😉 thank you for all the Sundays and Christmas Eves and for everything inbtween. Thank you for Paul. For raising an amazing man. And if there is a place where our souls meet again, please tell him I love and miss him. I can't believe it's been nearly 6 years since he passed but I hope you find a place beside him and I'm happy he has you with him. Dad you will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for all the good times. I will always love you and be grateful for you. Love always. Carol. Xx

Dearest Noel,
Thank you for the wonderful way you welcomed me into your family with such warmth and kindness. I'll miss you so much — especially at Christmas, where I'll always remember you as my partner in crime and co-conspirator in the Christmas games. It just won't be the same without you. xxx

As we go through life special people come into it...Noel was one of those great people. Noel and I worked together in the late 1960's at Sir Frederick Snow and Partners on Southwark Street in South London. We became friends very quickly. As a young draftsman Noel taught me so much. Back in those days, before cell phones and computers you bonded with people, and he was one of the best. My wife Lin and I often visited Noel and Val at the Chestnuts in Hartley...always such a pleasure. We moved to Canada in the mid 70's, but always stayed connected to our great friends.
Val we are both deeply sorry for your loss. Noel may be gone physically, but never gone from our minds.

As sad as I am by you leaving, I want you to know how grateful I am to have had you in my life, the time we had together and the laughs along the way.

I want to say thank you for all the support you have given me over the years, for the things you taught me and the values you passed on. I want to say thank you for your generosity, making us feel safe and care given towards us all. I want to say thank you for working so hard and for so long to provide us with a place we still call home.

Most importantly I want to thank you for always being there when I needed you, for always having my back and all the wonderful memories. You were my original best friend.

You leave behind a void that can’t be filled, you were a character that can’t be replaced, but I know I will see you again soon enough. So it’s not so much as goodbye but more of I will see you later.

So until then, love you Dad Xxxx
