In loving memory of Anthony Frank Featherstone who sadly passed away on 2nd October 2025.

Tony, as he was more commonly known, was not just a much beloved, husband, dad, granddad, brother, brother-in law, uncle and friend, he was a man of many attributes. He was, in no particular order, a scaffolder, political pundit, poet, footballer and football manger, handyman, philosopher, historian, avid listener of music of all genres, welsh man and wannabe rocker.

He was Dad, Tone, Tony Two Sheds, Tony Two Step, Snake Hips, Red Fev.

To Richard, Adam, Nic, Owen, Emily, Felix, Callum and Cameron, in his own words we were his "Beautiful Babies" , and he was our, "Silly Old Dad and Grandad".

To Sue, his wife of 57 years he was purely and simply "Love".

Essentially, he was everything we needed him to be and he will be sorely missed.

To those who are able to attend the funeral, we would love it if you could wear a splash of red in Anthony's honour.

For those who wish to join us after the funeral, a celebration of his life will be held at The Waterman's Arms, Wouldham. The Featherstones hope you can come to raise a glass or two.

Rest easy, Big Grandad. I'm not sure you knew just how much I idolised you. It hurts that I can't continue my growth as a young man with you by my side, but the effect you have already had on me is enormous, and although you can't be there in the physical, you will always be with me. Thank you for everything, I love you, and I will see you again one day.

Love Owen xxx

Fond memories of Tony … thanks to Tony and Sue making me feel part of your family in my teenage years. The fun at New Year’s parties and the times at gymnastics fetes and competitions. Later helping Rich with a job and always pleased to see you, to have a good chat, to put the world to rights.

Dear Anto your leaving us has raised many memories of our childhood days ,I see you now in my minds eye the day you started school ,a tearful little boy who was comforted by Miss Watts who sat you on her lap for the day whilst teaching the class which included me.Visiting you in Chepstow hospital on Boxing Day with dad and at seven years of age and despite pain and homesickness you were concerned for the little boy in the next bed. Playing "Best Man Faller" cowboys and indian style on the front lawn at Coedcae House, you were always the best at that one . Wherever your faith and spirit takes you may you meet with loved ones gone before and together share unending adventures and peace .
Know that you are loved and always will be .

Dear Grandad,

I’m sorry I didn’t make it in time. I started writing this hoping I’d get the chance to read it to you in person, but I never got the chance. So I hope that although you didn’t get to hear me say these words, you at least knew in your heart the meaning behind them.

I love you Grandad, though I haven't always had the opportunity to say it face to face I hope you know it in your heart. I have, and always will cherish all the times me and dad would visit for the holidays. I remember the cold room just past the living room where there would always be soft drinks I would get to have with dinner. I remember going for walks out the back to the park and looking at the squirrels. I remember Christmas suppers, not wanting anything to do with the brussels sprouts. Last Christmas I was over, sitting in your arm chair and eating all of your liquorice all sorts and mints while watching TV. Mostly though, I remember the warmth of you and nan’s house. Somewhere that was always safe, always pleasant, filled with smiles and love everywhere. I remember your impressions, your laughs and your joy, smiling at me as I opened presents and laughing together at silly gifts. And while it was only a few Christmas's worth of time, it felt like and will remain a lifetimes worth of memories.
Not only am I grateful for the time we could spend together, I am grateful for the son you made and gifted to me as a father. For I have the great honour of being a Featherstone, and knowing I have been raised to be the best I can be carrying that name onward. There's a quote I can only vaguely recall about how a son is the clearest reflection of his father, and that a great son measures a fantastic father. And to me, there is no better man, more hard working, caring, thoughtful and worthy man than my father - and I can only imagine that for him to grow to become such a great dad is to have it modelled for him when he was my age. So thank you grandad, not only for the memories we have together, but for your reflection in all the wonderful memories I have with my dad.

You will be missed dearly, and though it hurts not to have you’re here, the echoes of your life resound still in the hearts and minds of all of those you blessed throughout your life. Love you.

For my brother in law Tony. We shared a special bond…you loved and supported me when I had so little parental care. For that I am eternally grateful. You were there to give me a home when I so needed one..and even came to sort out my old banger of a car in the Blackwell Tunnel when it broke down on the way to yours one Christmas…we have walked and laughed and argued..but your spirit remains a life force.Mary xx

Words cannot describe the pain we feel at the moment and the huge hole your passing has left in our family. I remember fondly the many Saturday evenings spent at your house, after you’d looked after the kids whilst I’d gone to football, eating disco crisps and mint imperials. You were one of a kind and I personally was honoured to be your daughter-in-law and I will cherish the bird house you made me, when I see it in the garden I will always think of you!
RIP Tony love and miss you forever
Nic xx
