It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roger Philip Meadows, age 49, who passed away peacefully at Retford Hospice on 2nd October 2025.
Roger was born on 7th October 1975 in Wrexham, North Wales, the youngest of 3 children to Richard and Jill Meadows. He is survived by his children Reuben and Harriet, his loving partner Adelle and her son Samuel, not forgetting his loyal dog “Reggie”.
Roger attended Wellow Prep School until the age of 13 after which he started life as a boarder at Worksop College. After achieving his GCSEs there, he decided to move to High Pavement 6th form college in Nottingham where he studied for his A Levels.
After his A Levels Roger worked in the motor trade, initially working in sales. He joined Perry’s Motor Group 23 years ago where he was a well-respected and valued member of the team, having started in sales and worked his way up to become a sales training officer.
The funeral service will be held at Barnby Moor Crematorium, Diggles Lodge, Ranby, Retford DN22 8FL on Monday 3rd November at 11.00. The family would welcome you to join them afterwards at The Greendale Oak, Budby Rd, Cuckney, Mansfield, NG20 9NQ. Everyone would be most welcome to attend.
Contributions in his memory may be made to Retford Hospice, in lieu of flowers through A W Lymm, Manvers House, 5 Sherwood Drive, Ollerton, Notts, NG22 9PP.

Beautiful, perfect and fitting service Roger your family and loved ones did you beyond proud. Will miss you passing through Scrooby as Stansie waits for her school bus in a morning and will miss you even more on the balcony at swimming and swim meets. I know you’ll be keeping a watch over everyone. Rest in peace

Thinking of you all at this absolutely devastating and heartbreaking time. It was such a difficult day today but Reuben and Harriet - wow - you were soooo incredibly brave and soooo strong. Your Dad was with you every step of the way and he would have been soooo proud of you both today. Roger was a really wonderful gentleman and such a great swim Dad who adored Reuben and Harriet - life on the swimming balcony won't be the same without him. Remember we are all here for you - for anything - anything at all. Sending you all the love hugs and strength in the world xx
