Outside his childhood home. Used to tell me all the stories of his childhood & friends from the neighbourhood.

  • I do believe Daren and I cleaned the gutters of that house behind you. (Daren held the ladder - I was a lot more nimble in those days) but anyway, later, we went in for a Royal Navy tea: no tea strainer; saccharine sugar and powdered milk. And cold! (….very mid Atlantic in a storm). Possibly, that’s where ‘warm for October’ came from. (Or ‘mild for March’).

Difficult finding the right words today. Will miss my uncle dearly. Saturday afternoons will never be the same again. But will always be thinking of you when we take our seats to see the reds play down the Valley.

Bruce,

Truly it was a honour getting to call you Grandad. The way you welcomed me into the family from day one will always stick with me. You were always full of fun, cheer, and happiness. I will miss the tales you told, the little chuckles, seeing you with polly the Parrot, and looking at the fruits of your labor at the end of your garden.
You were certainly someone to aspire too.

Thank you for everything

Being around Bruce always felt so easy and relaxed. He and Diane welcomed myself, James and Leon into the family with open arms when Mum and Daren got married. He had a cheeky, boyish charm and we'll fondly remember his little jokes, warmth and happy nature ♥️
