In loving memory of Heather Louise Sarno who sadly passed away on 2nd September 2025. Please add memories, thoughts or photos of Heather that family and friends can reflect on in the future.

All that knew Heather are welcome to celebrate Heather’s Life, so please come along to the service and reception after (please don’t hold back, Heather wouldn’t). Please click whether you are attending the funeral and/or the funeral reception asap to allow the family to plan. You will need to then confirm via your emails before the RSVP is processed.

If you cannot attend and would like to watch via live streaming or via a recording after please use the following link:

http://trentv.org/heather

As we are sure you all know Heather would not want anyone to spend money on new clothes for her Celebration of Life. Please come in something you are most comfortable in. Steve and the boys will be honouring Heather's Life by wearing something floral, so please feel free to join us by including something colourful and floral, if you would like.

Heather's burial will be at Beeston Cemetery, if you attend, please do not drive into the cemetery or park there. Please park on Hillside Road where there is a side entrance to the cemetery.

Heather's Celebration of Life Reception will take place Jubilee Hotel and Conferences, NG7 2TU. Rooms are available at the Hotel on the Thursday and Friday if you wish to stay, discount codes for booking online:
Bed and Breakfast : Oct02BB
Room only : Oct02RO

As you can imagine Heather and Steve never discussed their wishes with each other, but we all know that Heather would want any gifts to be directed elsewhere. If you feel the need, please donate via the link on this webpage – all donations go directly to the charities, Emmanuel House whom Heather raised money for last year at the Robin Hood Half Marathon. If you wish to look at what the charity does, please copy and paste the link below.

Also to note, Heather’s older sister, Sally, will be running the Robin Hood Half Marathon on the 28th September in Heather’s place. Jack, Heather's Son, will also be running the Mini Marathon too – they will be running for the charity Safe Families UK. If you would like to sponsor their run please use the 2nd just giving link on this page.

Heather’s last day at The Guinness Partnership, eating dinner with her team. Heather was extremely well liked by her colleagues. She only worked here briefly but she a lasting impression on those she worked with.

I’m extremely saddened to hear of Heather’s passing. I worked with Heather many years ago and she was a very kind, friendly and compassionate person. My heart goes out to her husband, two sons and the rest of her family.

Rest easy Heather.

I am so very saddened to hear of Heather's passing. We didn’t know each other for very long, only a few weeks when we used to meet at our sons’ football. We used to sit next to each other and chat about various things. Heather, you struck as a very kind, pleasant and gentle soul with a great smile. I used to look for you the moment I landed at footie and will sorely miss you:( Rest in peace.

My thoughts are with all of Heather’s family and especially her boys.
Deepika X X

I didn’t know Heather very well but she always seemed to be a lovely lady. I remember her at Beeston Voices for a little while. She came to collect some water butts from me for Edible Beeston and we’d smile and say hello when we saw each other around Beeston. Sending so much love to her family as they navigate a world without her.

Many people I know were blessed by Heather's help over the last year or so, as she joined a team supporting refugees. The enthusiasm, intelligence, and compassion she brought to this work was clearly the same that she brought to many other endeavours. What an amazing woman, who did so much good in the world, and what a great loss to so many!

Dearest Heather,

You were genuinely one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

You were always the organiser of our teacher group and went above and beyond to help me with lesson planning many a time!

You never forgot a birthday and even when we hadn’t seen each other for a while you always sent a card.

Sending so much love to Steve and your boys.

Forever grateful to have know you Heather

Stace xxx
