In loving memory of Carl Ridley who sadly passed away on 21st June 2025

As you may already know Carl passed away peacefully on the 21st June 2025. Carl was a great son, brother, uncle, and cousin and a friend to so many more. We would therefore like to openly invite anyone who wants to join us in celebrating Carl’s life.

The funeral will be live-streamed, so if you’re unable to attend but would like to join us, please let us know and we’ll send you a link and code so you can watch it.

Carl wasn’t really a fan of formal attire. It’s important that all guests feel comfortable as we celebrate Carl’s life, so, as long as you’re dressed respectfully, anything goes.

Carl loved flowers, he loved to grow wild flowers in the garden - sometimes without even meaning to …
While flowers are appreciated, we’re sure Carl would prefer to complete his goal of raising £533 for MacMillan Cancer Support. Carl chose to raise money for this cause as he was being treated at the MacMillan Centre at the L&D hospital. He said he ‘thought it was important to be able to put a little back into the system to help others with treatment in their time of need’

On the 17th December 2020 Carl started his fundraiser, his goal was to raise £1,500, he raised £967 and he still has £533 to go - so get your bank cards at the ready and donate what you can, we will also have cash collections for the cause at the venues on the day.

Carl was always making memories. His friends and family would love to see his photos and hear your stories about the late great Carl Ridley. You can use this page to share all those important memories for years to come. The good, the bad & the ugly, we welcome it all. After all, when it comes to living, Carl would say ‘I did it my way’.

Carl was our neighbour for 30yrs plus. Had no trouble from him whatsoever. We really got to know each other towards the end of his life as he confided in me with regards to his ailment. I cut his grass, trimmed his hedge and helped him on his car. He would pop over the fence for a burger in the summer when we had a barbecue. We have been privileged to have know Carl who is and will continue to be dearly missed. R.I.P my friend..

Carl thank you for being a wonderful Brother in Law. Will miss your dinner visits where we used to have such a laugh. Will also miss our little excursions to Leighton Buzzard to get our cars serviced etc. I think about you not just as a Brother in a law but also as a very dear friend

  • I lived with Carl for a while, we had a great time. This was our first Christmas and these were the gifts we gave each other, all individually wrapped …. I gave Carl a teaspoon (because I’d taken one of his to work and accidentally left it there) and a lovely broom so he could sweep the leaves off the decking (he never used it !) Carl gave me a bottle of hair conditioner as he’d been using mine (hair conditioner was a new discovery for him) and a whistle because he kept trying to teach me to whistle, I tried, laughed a lot, and failed - so he bought me a whistle instead ! 🥹 I miss you Carl 😢 but I have so many happy funny memories to keep me going ….

  • I forgot to say …. Carl said we should NOT smile for this photo - we had to keep retaking it as I couldn’t not smile, it was so funny.
